151 Reasons to Smile
151 gifts for children in poverty
Back in September, on the International Day of Charity we announced our partnership with Baby Bank Scotland for Christmas 2025.
Baby Bank Scotland are a charity set up in the heart of Lanarkshire who offer year round support to families living in poverty, providing clothing, prams, even cots and beds to those who desperately need them. We wanted to do something to support them and set up a present donation for those within Maxim Park to provide a gift for a child, from newborn up to 16 years old in the hope that no child in this area would wake up on Christmas morning without a gift.
151 gift bags were handed in, many of them containing multiple presents which will go to children in our local communities, ensuring that every child gets a gift from Santa this year.
Baby Bank Scotland shared their thanks saying, “We are absolutely overwhelmed with gratitude- the businesses at Maxim Park have donated an incredible 151 Christmas gifts to Baby Bank Scotland. A special shout out goes to Rosie, who pulled it all together and made this amazing donation possible. Each gift represents more than just a present; it’s a message of Hope, Kindness and Community Spirit that will brighten the festive season for local children and families. Your generosity shows the true power of coming together, and we are so proud to have your support in making Christmas magical for those who need it most. From all of us at Baby Bank Scotland: Thank you for standing with us, for believing in our mission and for helping us spread joy this Christmas. #151 reasons to smile”
Rosie Affleck, Sustainability, Community & Events Coordinator said; “ To be able to coordinate this donation is one of my proudest moments of 2025. Baby Bank Scotland do a phenomenal job all through the year, giving support wherever possible. It was a very emotional moment seeing all of the presents laid out at our tree, the sheer volume of gifts was so overwhelming to see. The kindness of the people within Maxim Park is truly appreciated and we are delighted to have played a small part in supporting children living in poverty this Christmas.”
