Maximise your comfort at Maxim Park

Maxim 8 at Maxim Park

We know that a modern workplace should be more than just a space in which to hold meetings and house a team and their IT. That’s why at Maxim Park we’re always working to invest in the facilities we offer, creating a state-of-the-art environment that can inspire people, not only in their work, but in their rest and play too!

As part of this, we’re proud to unveil Maxim 8’s newly-created lounge, which, as well as providing style and comfort, supports our move towards sustainability by using furniture made with materials created from plastic bottles reclaimed from our oceans, as well as recycled yarn.

The light and airy space at Maxim 8, which features a living wall to bring the outside in, as well as planters that are built into shelving, is broken into practical and peaceful zones to accommodate groups and individuals alike, offering a sense of privacy within an open-plan layout.

The work, which was carried out by PMA Contracts, is complemented by the building’s brand-new reception area, which is adjacent to the lounge for a seamless experience when welcoming guests and visitors to work.

Our events and sustainability manager Ruth Anderson said: “It’s so important to us that the improvements we make throughout the park are as kind to the environment as possible. And we’re proud to showcase the quality of finish that can be achieved using reclaimed materials.”

All the sofas throughout the refreshed ground-floor space at Maxim 8 have been upholstered using a fabric made 100 per cent from post-consumer recycled polyester, and the yarn, sourced through an initiative designed to combat marine pollution, is 75 per cent made up of ocean plastic. A donation to the project was made for every metre of fabric used, and each of the stools is also made from 20 polyethylene terephthalate bottles.

Ruth continued: “All of this is reflective of our operational policy to become fully net zero by 2045, supporting the country’s goal for minimising global warming, but it isn’t the only recent improvement we’ve made at Maxim 8.”

In addition to the impressive ground floor, we’ve been readying our Level 1 office space for prospective new occupiers following our recent lettings to the newest members of our community, TClarke, Sartorius and LumiraDX.

The 15,000 sq. ft. area, which is now available to view, benefits from a £750,000 investment to create a category A finish, including features such a raised access floor and suspended ceiling.
