One of the largest scale models ever produced in the UK has been built to showcase the £330m Maxim office park at Eurocentral. The 4x3m model of the 756,000 sq ft development, which is one the largest speculative build business parks in the UK, took over three months to complete with detail including 10 office blocks, 1,000 cars and 1,700 trees.
Built by North Glasgow-based Omega Models Ltd at its Kirkintilloch workshop, the project team used over 24 square metres of fibreglass in the process and the model is on show at the Maxim marketing suite. Work on the Maxim development, on the former Chunghwa Picture Tubes site at Eurocentral in Lanarkshire, is on schedule to build 10 flexible high quality office buildings by March 2010.
Karen Campbell, Chief Executive of Maxim, said the model has already played a key role in presentations to office agents and organisations interested in moving to the development and was showcased at the recent Scottish Property Awards.
Karen added: "We wanted something to showcase the development's sheer size and scale and the model perfectly reflects the magnitude of what is currently happening on site. "The response has been outstanding and the model allows us to walk potential tenants through the site in the comfort of the marketing suite."
Managing director of Omega Models Ltd, Robert Munn said:
"Maxim is such a significant development, due to its sheer size and leading designs and we are delighted to have been involved. This is physically the largest model we have produced to date and it required the team to build it in two sections."
Omega Models was established in 1997, and is now one of the largest companies of its kind in Scotland with national and international clients.
